@Coffee_and_Salt This is certainly the age for it.
Any VPN is only as secure as you can trust the provider. You *have* to be able to trust the provider since you're choosing to route your traffic through their gear.
Apple's VPN is probably fine (and likely better than no VPN, depending on your threat model) but I'd rather use a VPN from a provider which stakes their entire reputation on protecting your traffic - and couldn't be compelled to turn over that information to law enforcement (Proton, Mullvad, etc.).

"Many of us have looked back on historic events where people have bravely stood up against powerful adversaries and wondered, “what would I have done?” Now is your chance to find out. It did not just start with this election; it has been that time for a long time. If you’re just realizing it now, get your ass in gear. Make yourself proud."
@rpardee for that price I can't *not* add them to my library
I have a long history of buying these bundles & then never reading the books, but... if anybody's looking to upgrade their command-line/scripting skills: https://www.humblebundle.com/books/shells-and-scripting-for-seasoned-admins-oreilly-books
@MgBarbatos @kay_dub I did, and I'm really happy with how it turned out.
(I've been meaning to write a blog post detailing all the steps, including what it took to (re)integrate the vacuum into Home Assistant without any cloud in the mix but haven't finished that write-up. Soon, I hope!)
I'm a big fan of defanging "smart" devices so that they answer to me instead of some corporate overlord.
