I've been printing a lot of fidget toys lately, and may have just landed on my new favorite. It makes me think of the addictive sensation of flipping a zippo lid open and closed *without* making my hand smell like lighter fluid.

Plus it's pretty quiet which I'm sure my coworkers will appreciate.

Guess it's time to print a new belt. This one honestly lasted a lot longer than I thought it would! I printed it about 2 years ago!

I've been using Klipper firmware with my Ender 3 Pro for a while, but had stuck with the OctoPrint front-end largely due to my reliance on The Spaghetti Detector for monitoring my prints.

Well there's finally a TSD plugin for Moonraker (a web API for Klipper) so this weekend I flashed my raspi to replace OctoPrint with Mainsail. And my first test print looks successful! Now to get TSD running again...

Ooh, a The Spaghetti Detective plugin for Moonraker.

My Ender 3 Pro has been using Klipper firmware for ages but I've been stuck with Octoprint due to my reliance on TSD. That may soon change. Like, this weekend.

Happy New Year from my oversized flexi tree frog (and friends!) to yours.

Go Go Gadget Legs!

These should help with taking off when grass or other obstacles would normally block the props.

I'm pretty pleased with how this flexible belt printed with TPU filament turned out - and it only took two weeks of tinkering with my Cura profile to get it right!

TIL: you can use a flatbed scanner to help replicate a 3D extrusion of a 2D shape.

I wish I had thought of this when I needed to replace some valance clips a few weeks ago. Definitely adding this to my bag of tricks now though!

Sometimes, I print useful things.
Other times, I print a garden hose phallus because my wife is a teenage boy.

Designing threads is tedious, but creating a part which fits like a glove is oh-so-satisfying. Even when it's a really simple part.

It's not my prettiest print, but hopefully printing on its back instead of standing up will prevent it from separating at the bottom after a few months like the last one.
