I think it's most like an abusive domestic relationship. The abuser has to keep making the victim accept worse and worse degradation, but does it in tiny increments. Any MAGA person asked ten years ago whether they would vote for someone who did-this or said-that would say, "hell, no," but here we are with half the country sitting like frogs in a boiling pot.

They are changing. It's harder for them to spoof the caller ID now, and the FTC is sending warning letters to the voice-over-internet providers who service illegal robocallers. They are threatening to cut them off from the US phone system, and I think they did it to one company. That's why I try to keep reporting, so they have evidence to use that they are continuing to violate the laws.

It's a headline from an article from Star News Australia, quoting Queerty, supposedly quoting an article in the National Catholic Register from an anonymous official trying to backstab Pope Francis in 2017. I can't find the original article, but there are other archived editorials about gay priests being a problem. (They're okay with it if they rape little girls, of course.)
