Here's a poll: Do you answer phone calls from unknown numbers?

@EileenKCarpenter @ProjectShadow @VelvetDuchess Answering in something other than english or spanish usually gets you taken off the list. Their voice recognition robots don't pick up on most languages.

Though hoping things will change soon with some lawss rolling out...

@sentientdessert @ProjectShadow @VelvetDuchess
They are changing. It's harder for them to spoof the caller ID now, and the FTC is sending warning letters to the voice-over-internet providers who service illegal robocallers. They are threatening to cut them off from the US phone system, and I think they did it to one company. That's why I try to keep reporting, so they have evidence to use that they are continuing to violate the laws.

@EileenKCarpenter @sentientdessert @ProjectShadow If you have AT&T or Cricket you text 7726 and share the contact it will report automatically.

@EileenKCarpenter @ProjectShadow The Harris pollsters usually leave a message and I can call back.

@VelvetDuchess @EileenKCarpenter @ProjectShadow
Usually I ignore unknown incoming calls, but sometimes I answer and see how much of their time I can waste. It's a juvenile pleasure.

So, eff me, I just realized my text messages have a spam folder and there are a ton of messages from pollsters (not reputable ones), candidates, and fraudsters. A lot of them address themselves to names that are not me, so they're buying skeevy contact lists.
