It's also completely incoherent to say that Biden is incompetent to lead his campaign but he's competent to lead the country. If he's really unfit to be the D nominee, then he should resign as President as well and let Kamala Harris take over. But if he's still competent to be President, then all this kerfluffle is nothing more than an attempt to influence the election in Trump's favor.

: All this discussion and navel-gazing about Biden stepping aside/down and such is on one hand amusing and on the other puzzling. I say puzzling because it's just adding fuel to a fire that isn't there, which does nothing but help the Republicans and Trump, however slightly.

"It's just a thought experiment" I keep hearing, to which I respond, "Leave it there then, and don't verbalize it or put it into print." At this point, it's almost certainly not harmless.
