Only a matter of time before the 🥚 escalates

Tonight is a fireplace and hot cocoa kind of night.

So I gave the Ibarra another go, and I nailed the ratio this time. 1/2 puck melted in 12 oz milk. Added extra cinnamon, ancho, and even a little Mombassa chili powder for extra 🔥. This is delicious.

I got tired of trying and failing at properly seasoning the Lodge cast iron pans my friend gave me, so I picked up this cheap Victoria. This strip steak was it's maiden voyage l,and boy did it ever perform beautifully.

Looks like meat's back on the menu, boys!

What was changed in the new mobile app version? Play store says added support for files, camera, and mic. I don't really see any new functionality as far as those things go. What am I missing?

Note to self: Check to see if your chili oil has Sichuan peppercorn *before* adding multiple spoonfuls to your fried rice.

I posted awhile back about Paramount+ not remembering what I had watched. I can now confirm that my #pi-hole is the culprit. But it also means I get zero ads on the app, not even during shows. So I'll deal with this annoyance to avoid the more obtrusive one. Not whitelisting their domains.

When she shared what was going on with friends, they just kind of said "yeah, that's how he is". She never reported the abuse out of fear of reprisal. I was horrified hearing this.

The point of me posting this is that terrible people taking advantage of power dynamics can be found in places many of us would not suspect.

If you see something, say something. Stories like this will continue to happen until we make it impossible for abusers to keep their jobs.

Today I met a fellow classical pianist who attended the same university (I believe several years after me) and had the same professor I started with, but he was both *physically* and verbally abusive to her. Apparently he used to hit her when she wasn't playing up to his standard. I was shocked, but not surprised. This person did not feel comfortable going to the head of the department as I did, however. She stayed with this professor all four years.

This takes a turn, so read the whole thread.

The piano professor I started with in my undergrad program was rather famous and well respected, but he was verbally abusive to me. Within a few weeks I had enough and demanded reassignment. I later found out that he was that way to everyone. The teacher I had for the rest of my undergrad was absolutely phenomenal, and continues to be an inspiration to me as a musician who is soft spoken and humble despite their enormous ability.

Most people who wear Guy Fawkes masks nowadays probably don't know anything about the guy, or what even happened on the 5th of November.

A top #cosomerch priority should be a huge order of stickers. It's long past time for these to be plastered all over every hacker/infosec conference.
