Even if you have a really awful class, you don't disrespect children. They are children; they don't have fully formed cognitive awareness. Some people just are unwilling to ask for or accept support of their peers.

"Teachers unions are disgusting" ?

Maybe that time I was strike captain leading a picket line during a hot couple weeks in late August...

@Siren_six
If you still use these kinds of apps, you should check out the free Dorico SE. It's amazing what even that version can do.

@Siren_six
My memories of Finale were mostly of frustration, specifically writing piano music with multiple voices per staff. That's one of the reasons I jumped ship to Sibelius, and Dorico handles this better still.

^ I started using Finale way back on version 3.0. I switched to Sibelius after finding it much easier to use, and I was there from v. 5 to 7, until Avid (owners of Pro Tools) bought the company and sacked the original UK development team.

That team was hired by Steinberg where they began work a clean-sheet competitor. That work became Dorico. I immediately jumped over to that app upon its first release and have been there ever since.

^ RUMINT from a band director colleague is that Sibelius may also be on its way out. If that were to happen, we would have a Highlander situation in the professional score writing app world.

I cannot join, but I want to contribute this for those who haven't seen Whitney Merrill's Etsy store. She has a few pins and stickers that reference the movie.

No, I'm pretty sure this is organic. Unlike some of these current people on YouTube who post staged videos of themselves busking when some 'random' singer happens to drop by and start singing with him, and *shocked face* she's a fantastic singer (and of course very pretty).

@Vanitas
I assume that was a brand name; I've never heard of it. But that's what I'm talking about. I'm old enough to have been given dittos as a student, but not quite old enough to have used the machine as a teacher.

I'm a bit disappointed by the omission of ditto machines / the smell of ditto fluid.

@corlin
SAME. But I suspect this list may have been made by a Millennial.

@Saorsa

*Hamas were wrong to attack on October 7th but the Jews brought it on themselves* is not the flex you think it is.

I'm not sure how I feel about Old Tom Bombadil. I think it's a great song, but not sure it really fits the carefree and cheerful nature of his character.

EDIT:
I just listened to the Reprise of this song, sung by the actors who actually play Tom and The Stranger (aka Blue Wizard 1) in the show. This is much better in style, with a lilt and bounce that is right on. Rufus's version will likely be used for closing credits.

Be careful if you start playing saxophone on a NYC subway, because there's a non-zero chance another sax player will challenge you to a battle.
