We had a beloved variety show for years, The Two Ronnies, with sketches, songs, jokes & lots of wordplay. One of the two, Ronnie Corbett had a weekly spot where he'd do a monologue telling a joke, but the same thing as me - he'd spend 10 minutes telling a 1 minute story. Which is why my Mum (and Sharon!) tell me I'm "doing a Ronnie Corbett" when I'm telling them things sometimes 🤣
