When people ask “why didn’t they evacuate?” please consider that many folks don’t have cars, have no relatives or friends they can stay with, can’t afford gasoline, tolls, or hotels, don’t dare leave and risk losing their jobs because they can’t return in time, can’t safely evacuate their elderly loved ones, won’t leave without their pets, or they have legitimate health concerns about staying in shelters. Poor shaming them in the midst of a catastrophe is not a good look. #Idalia

“Thank you for calling the Farquhar, Round, & Feindoubt legal hotline. As our enemies - foreign and domestic - eagerly shred the fabric of America, I believe that there are still threads that bind us together. I’ve had the good fortune to have traveled to 45 of the 50 states in my personal and professional life. From interstates to dirt roads, deserts to swamplands, mountains to beaches, farmlands to factories. I’ve walked in volcano-fresh lava in Hawaii, eaten ocean-fresh lobsters in Maine; swum with dolphins in the Florida Keys…
Unfettered joy preparing for my Mother's Day road trip.
A self-imposed limerick challenge, using the word prompt of 'ken' ('ken' refers to one's range of knowledge or understanding).
In the depths of the wild, mighty glen,
Lived a scholar apart from all men.
With knowledge his ken,
He found peace now and then,
And his wisdom grew boundless again.
Mass consumer credit greased wheels of mass production. Credit generated consumer demand; which encouraged industrial investment; which led to economies of scale, lower costs, and more industrial work; finally encouraging further consumer demand

I truly love this place. ❤
I can't imagine going anywhere else as social media/media in general has gotten so ugly and full of hate. People can let the fingers fly & be horrible humans. Too many continue this behaviour in person. Opinions are yours but remember to listen & agree to disagree or use the tools here.
I'm going to focus on what I can do to make a difference in my world. Because too much noise and too little action is going to be our downfall.
Thanks for coming to my JulesTalk.
78 tornado reports Friday in the Heartland, more possible
Everyone in Trump’s world is expendable to him. The last folks to realize this are his faithful MAGA followers rotting in jail for their role in the January 6th insurrection. Trump’s world is a zero-sum game: you’re sacrificed for his protection, like zincs on a ship. #Politics
Little Miss Attitude, like the rest of our pack, is staying active and engaged despite getting more grizzled by the day. #DogsOfCoSo
Okay, Arizona fake electors and Trump fans: listen up. You can’t be pardoned even if Trump wins in a landslide. You’ve reached the end of the road. You’re looking at the last good chance to step up and do the right thing. The early “flippers” get the best deals. #Politics
Good news: I got a free sourwood tree sapling this morning at a community environmental event. Bad news: the instructions advise planting it TODAY and I have no clue where on my half-acre lot I want to plant it. It can grow 25+ feet high and 20+ feet wide. Solution: I’ve set it in a gallon sized pot with good soil and mulch and watered it and set it in a sunny spot until I figure out my plan. It’s supposedly well liked by pollinators and birds and provides hiding places for small wildlife.
