#history #colonization
So, most people know or at least heard about colonization of Americas & what consequences on indigenous peoples it had.
How many of you know about colonization of Siberia? And what happened to the indigenous peoples of Siberia. If nothing - here is a decent starting point (guess what, diseases are also present in this story):

huh, apparently, there is no platform that allows you to find friends via book tastes. I thought goodreads could do it, but no.
disappointing

I told my husband about "Can't Hurt Me" by Goggins, he found an audio book and listened it.
Alcohol was his favorite drug for years, he always maniacally wanted to loose weight but couldn't quit drinking.
And then he stopped drinking overnight.
I am literally shocked by the effect of this book as this was his problem for decades and nothing could persuade him to reduce the intake. Until now. π³

to be fair, they do have some issues. trying to solve it, but it's a hard nut to crack. https://www.lawfareblog.com/female-service-idf-challenge-integrated-army

great! I wish they all did the same, so I can avoid them with ease π really convenient
I've made a mistake and visited a local fb page (I have a naked fb account that sits there for other people to get in contact if needed, I don't use it). what hit me right in the face is the amount of hostile and angry comments from reps toward dems. how miserable your life should be if you spend your life trashing other people on the internet with such zeal and hate? I'm genuinely sorry for these folks, it's probably exhausting. angry people have angry bodies
@lenaoflune
I'm more surprised about people being surprised. Why would one expect anything else from an apartheid baby?

@CJLavoie
thanks, will put it on my list!
@CJLavoie oh, cool! I was considering it as a present for a friend, she is an avid birdwatcher.

@Render wait, where are the bioengineered battle-geese? π€ͺ they forgot to count them in
@tyghebright
I totally agree
informational hygiene is important as never before. media and social media now monetize primarily on anger. it's insane. I stopped reading any news except bbc (even them I don't read as much) and the Kyiv Independent + several grassroots journalists & news channels

I had to re-read the screen cause it did not resolve in my brain as a real apology the first time π
if there was a prize for "apologies without apologizing" he'd win it, and that would be his Ns one.
