I used to be a pantser when I wrote. My book DAY OF THE DESTROYER changed all that, because it has an intricately convoluted plot of four separate storylines that move around and through each other. I *had* to plot it out chapter by chapter, scene by scene. Now I do that for all my books. My next book has over 12k words just in the plot and I'm not done plotting yet!

So since it is my Book Birthday, do any of you have any questions about the book, the series, my writing in general, or anything I could reasonably be expected to answer? Feel free.

Good morning, , and Happy Friday! My session this weekend is canceled due to GM illness, so I'm going to focus on finishing the plotting for my next book (and maybe even start writing it). Also, I have a book birthday coming up on Monday, so that's always exciting.

Hmmm. SFWA has updated their requirements for membership and now I am easily eligible. The question I must now ponder is whether it's worth $100 a year for me to be part of that membership.

Hey there book-loving ! My new superhero book, Posse, is now available for presale. If you want to get it before it officially releases on 3/13, for 20% off list price, go here: smashwords.com/books/presale/1 /nosanitize

I'm just past halfway done with the final proofread/ebook formatting for Posse. Looks good to have it ready for presale sometime over the weekend and a release date in the second week of March. Ah, nothing like an upcoming book birthday!

All righty - revisions are done. Final proof still to do but I am comfortable setting a release date for this book. More to follow.

I'm through about a third of the edits on Posse. Going to see his much more I can get through today. Still looks like a mid-March release. Go, me!

Got through about fifteen percent of the manuscript edits tonight. Good progress. Looking at a mid-March release at this point. Upcoming book birthdays are always exciting! Watch this space for further updates.

Well, I added another two thousand words to my doorstopper of an epic fantasy, but I believe it's done and ready for submission. I'll wrap up my query draft tomorrow and by tomorrow night will be on the hunt for an agent for the first time in about twenty years.

Finishing the main draft of a book project is always a mixed bag of feels. It's great to have it done, but I always feel empty afterward. That's probably why people say I'm a prolific writer; I don't like to sit around waiting for the next project.

I'm already plotting the next project, by the way.

Sticking my head up to announce I have a half chapter and short epilogue left to write in my book Posse and I anticipate getting that done this afternoon!

Really nice review someone posted of my book Castles (one of the ones in the series I'm particularly proud of).

Do any of you know what the physiological effects of significantly higher-than-normal air pressure are? Like 1.5+ atmospheres. I don't need a ton of detail because it's a short scene but I'd like to be accurate on how it is affecting this character.

"I'm afraid we really must be going." Jack smirked at Misrule. "No, don't get up."
Misrule struggled against the weight pinning him to the deck. "This won't stop me."
"This boat's on a one-way trip to the bottom of the Gulf. I guess we'll see you in what, another couple decades?" Jack put his hand up to his ear. "What's that? I can't hear you over the sound of me leaving."

Good morning, . I'm back on my bullshit again. In this case, my bullshit is slyly writing chapter portions all day long in an email to myself while at the day job. To be fair, I like my day job, so I'm not doing it instead of work. I'm just good enough at my work that I tend to have bits of downtime here and there, and this is how I'm filling it.

The ongoing debate with myself is whether it will benefit me more to just publish this standalone book or to go through the rigmarole of agents and traditional publishers. On the one hand, I've been self publishing for twelve years and I am very good at it. On the other hand, this book is not part of my series, so it's unencumbered by continuity.
