Hey there, all you cool new ! I'm Ian: author, meme aficionado, caffeine enthusiast, and shiftless layabout. I know it can be overwhelming so here are a few tags specifically for the :

Pin them into their own column and voila, you have a group of potential friends just waiting to meet you and talk about the same stuff that interests you!*

I used to be a pantser when I wrote. My book DAY OF THE DESTROYER changed all that, because it has an intricately convoluted plot of four separate storylines that move around and through each other. I *had* to plot it out chapter by chapter, scene by scene. Now I do that for all my books. My next book has over 12k words just in the plot and I'm not done plotting yet!

Sticking my head up to announce I have a half chapter and short epilogue left to write in my book Posse and I anticipate getting that done this afternoon!

Do any of you know what the physiological effects of significantly higher-than-normal air pressure are? Like 1.5+ atmospheres. I don't need a ton of detail because it's a short scene but I'd like to be accurate on how it is affecting this character.

"I'm afraid we really must be going." Jack smirked at Misrule. "No, don't get up."
Misrule struggled against the weight pinning him to the deck. "This won't stop me."
"This boat's on a one-way trip to the bottom of the Gulf. I guess we'll see you in what, another couple decades?" Jack put his hand up to his ear. "What's that? I can't hear you over the sound of me leaving."

Two-thirds done with the next round of revisions on Roast Wyvern. Still torn about the ultimate fate of this one. Do I send it out to agents or do I keep this one under my own imprint? Decisions, decisions. Anyway, good night, , wherever you are!

This is probably nowhere close to what the cover for Posse will look like, but I was messing around with HeroMachine and GIMP today and came up with this. At the very least, it's a concept for my cover artist.

Tonight I need to pick up soil for the new garden box and fill it. Then I can start work on edits for Jackrabbit: Rinse and Repeat!

Good morning, ! Apparently, my editor was quite, uh, moved by my latest project: "This might be my favorite thing of yours I've ever read. You're so clearly in your element here. The concepts were incredibly clever, the dialogue fantastic. I didn't have a ton of critiques to make, because you wrote a very tight story with a satisfactory ending...
...I demand more Jackrabbit forever.
Also I'm now hungry for bread and cheese."

Editor informed me mid-read that she is very much enjoying the story and unraveling of the mystery in my time loop book Jackrabbit: Rinse and Repeat. Always good to hear I'm amusing the cynics!

These poor teens in my are so desperately in love with each other, and every time they start making out, they get interrupted.

Just like real life.

I'm only about 500 words from hitting 70k on the Roast Wyvern book. Feels like it's going well. It took me almost 69k words before any characters vomited (this is an inside joke with me and one of my friends and fellow Just Cause Universe authors).

Feels like a good day to be at work, since the rain is going to shut down construction today and maybe tomorrow too.

I am blazing along on Roast Wyvern and Other Recipes, an epic, low fantasy quest novel more about the gathering of ingredients than fighting monsters and getting treasure. I'm about 65k into it and it will probably be 100k when it's done. Just another epic fantasy doorstop.

In my fantasy world, if you see a group (squad? Flock?) of Halflings, somebody is going to die a nasty death, because when you're only two feet tall, you use dirty tricks against your opponents, and that means poison.

Tonight, I wrote a scene full of romantic tension over the lancing of a boil on a horse's flank. Also, there's a Gnome suffering from withdrawal shitting his brains out in the bushes. This is the good stuff, folks.
