I am blazing along on Roast Wyvern and Other Recipes, an epic, low fantasy quest novel more about the gathering of ingredients than fighting monsters and getting treasure. I'm about 65k into it and it will probably be 100k when it's done. Just another epic fantasy doorstop.

@ianthealy Excited for you to finish this. This is definitely something I would love to read.

@BabyToaster Thanks! My dear friend @msallied is insisting I send this one to her agency first. I probably will, just to see how it goes. It's been many years since I was agented. If you are interested, this is a sidequel to another book I wrote (that IS available) called Horde.

@ianthealy I figured you had epic plans for publishing. lol I'll check out that other one you wrote, and I'm good to wait patiently. Just letting you know the interest is there for your take on the genre. :)

@BabyToaster I'm guessing my unique spin on this is that I'm largely unfamiliar with the genre beyond a few classics like LOTR, DragonLance, The Iron Tower, Discworld, and the Spellsinger series. I don't typically read fantasy, but played a lot of fantasy , which is what informs most of my tropes. When the potential agents ask about comparable works, I'm going to be doing a lot of shrugging and tap dancing.

@ianthealy You can spin it by saying "You want this because it's one of a kind! It'll be the start of something new!" A character driven adventure that twists the genre.

@ianthealy Good morning! I'm working on editing a bit of my fantasy novel Vhantalya. I'm on the last stages before it goes to beta readers. I'm very much looking forward to it being another epic fantasy doorstop as well!

@Writelighter @ianthealy
Wouldn't that be nice? Including the prequel which is coming last, I have ten novels planned in this series, all outlined and rarin' to go. I'd take instant classic, but honestly I'd be over the moon happy just to get it done and out there.

@Melaradark @ianthealy My Little Blessing visionary fiction series will have 4 books. I never thought I'd write a prequel, but I did and I had so much fun writing it. But it kept me from finishing the sequel, which I had to shelve temporarily because I got "the nudge" to write ANOTHER sequel (based on my protagonist's best friend), which I'm working on now. When I finish this manuscript, I'm going back to the original sequel. You just never know where your writing will take you. πŸ˜€

@Writelighter @ianthealy So true!

I wasn't intending to write a prequel to this series either. I actually had the entire series plotted out then out, cruising along on that, then suddenly I get this idea for this whole kerfuffle that takes place thousands of years prior but ties in so much of the little loose ends I had that I was trying to tuck away.

This is why I'm trying hard to get three of my WIPs done in a year, or they'd never get done.
