I'm heading off to sleep for the night, but I'll leave you all with this, as some writers find action scenes difficult to put into words and some people have found this a useful little tool for their writers' toolbox. amazon.com/dp/B0055LH0MU

Good morning, !
I finished chapter 9 in my WIP over the weekend. I'm early in the second act and things are going badly for the characters and about to get a whole lot worse as the war enters a new stage.

About to call it for the night. For all my writer friends, what's the best thing you wrote today? Add it to the thread. Here's mine, from Extinction Event, JCU #26.

Good luck to all you folks doing ! I've done it 16 or 17 times and won it every time, so you can trust me when I say your mantra for the next 30 days should be "Fuck it, I'll fix it in rewrites."

For whatever reason, I've found it difficult to write on my laptop recently, so I've gone old school and am writing on my phone instead. I have actually written several books that way over the years, emailing them to myself.

Check out these two books featuring my superheroes struggling with their darker sides: The Lion and the Five Deadly Serpents and Soldiers of Fortune. If you like a good period piece, Five Deadly Serpents takes place in 1980 in Hong Kong, and Soldiers takes place in 1993 in Los Angeles. phttps://books.bookfunnel.com/darksciencefiction/rgu8dkqjng

I'm sorry to report that I've reached the portion of my current book project where a lot of people are going to die. I don't really enjoy killing off characters, despite doing it ALL THE TIME according to my readers. The sad truth of it is that in a realistic setting, being a superhero is incredibly dangerous and it is their privilege to die with their (pixie) boots on.

Once again, I find myself on the fence about . I mean, I don't have anything to prove (I've done it 16 times now). I'm also working on the next JCU book and there's no way I'll be done with it by Nov 1. But I'm also noodling on an idea. Decisions, decisions...

What should I write for this year's ? A fantasy set in my established Tolkien-esque world about a postal carrier or a full-on swashbuckling pulp sci-fi about a tramp freighter pilot? Discuss.
