Because my friend @Lena_Tasi may be too shy to share this, I'm sharing it. She says it should be out in February. I've read an early version of this and I'm very excited about it! lenatasi.com/

Here's a good article about the genre, which I did not know was a thing until I had a table next to a LitRPG author at a convention a few years ago. Not to be outdone, I wrote one as part of my superhero series (see next post). onlysky.media/ccassidy/litrpg-

9-1/2 hours until my vacation! I may or may not be spending the day a chapter in an email to myself.

So I'm getting pretty close to 50k words in Posse. I think the final word count will be around 75k, which is a nice count for a brisk read.

I am ALMOST to a milestone. I'm ten sales away from selling my 1000th audiobook. For big time authors, that's probably a Tuesday, but for a smol boi like me who's been in the trenches for a decade, that seems astronomical. So I guess if anyone is looking for a new listen, maybe check out the Ian Thomas Healy catalog on Audible or iTunes.

I spent some time developing character images for some Mexican superheroes that will appear in an upcoming book. Here are Maestro, La Adelita, Atotolin, and Dzulum.

Good morning, . Last night I threw a carload of my characters out of the back of a plane and now they have to figure out how to get into Polyarny ahead of a superpowered terrorist who intends to steal a nuclear missile sub. In other words, it was a typical Tuesday in my writing world.

My vacation is over and I'm heading back in to work today. To recap: I only wore pants one day. I watched all 11 Star Wars movies and live-posted here while I did. I wrote a couple chapters in my work in progress. Listened to music. Read comics. Listened to my current audiobook. Ate too much. Spent time with family. Watched hockey.

It was a great vacation!

As for that novel-length SWEU fanfic? I eventually edited it and rewrote all the Star Wars references out of it and published it as a pretty dang good space opera, called Assassin. If you're curious, you can find it here. amazon.com/dp/B00D9Y7CJQ It's not Star Wars, but I'm winking pretty broadly the entire time. They're NOT Jedi, they're Watchmen. *wink wink* (5/5)

Been awhile since I posted any new images. Here are some I've done recently. These are all characters from my existing and upcoming books. Super-speedster Mustang Sally (retired from active duty to teach at the Hero Academy), her partner/father of her children March, March's uncle Harlan Washington in his Destroyer Mark VI battlesuit (in symbiosis with a silicon-based alien), and an immortal mercenary Jingshen aka The Ghost.

So here's a little fun looking into the Just Cause Universe crystal ball of future books. I'm currently Posse with an estimated release at the end of the first quarter 2023. I'm plotting Extinction Event and hoping to hit a fourth quarter release. Last Days will be out in 2024.

On our way to the Southern Colorado Comic Con in Pueblo. If you're in the area tomorrow, come see me! I'll be the one with the hair, at the table with all the books.

Up next in the , my supervillains are going to be attacked by non-powered German special forces ahead of the heroes' arrival. A bloodbath will ensue, followed by a run-and-gun highway chase. This is a set piece that would be in the movie trailer if this book ever got made into a movie.

Some more character studies for an upcoming book project. Here are Skunk Nancy, Blazing Fury, Rascal, and Cavalier. Want to learn more? Check out the Just Cause Universe series, available wherever / / are sold.

7. Most importantly, have fun. It is a challenge because if it was easy, everyone would do it. The secret is that everyone can. It's just difficult. But whether you write 50k words in 30 days, 80k words, or 8k, you've still allowed yourself to create something that never before existed in the universe. That's magic, and you are a magician for doing it.

Good luck, friends!

Hey, ! Are you doing this year? I've done it and won it 16 times over the past two decades. Not doing it this year because the timing is wrong and I have nothing left to prove to anyone including myself. However, here are some tips that you may find useful.
1. Try to get ahead in your first week. With no weekend for five days, that's tough, but it will make the mid-month doldrums more bearable.
