1. I work for someone who knows that if he really doesn't want the answer, he shouldn't ask the question. And then he listens when I ask.
2. I learned to do the mosaic so that I can lead a demo at an education day event that my local and guild is having in the fall, and all of that makes me happy
3. tonight is date night, tomorrow is farmer's market, guild meetup, then friends over for dinner and games

BONUS - I don't go back to work until 7/5 😎

My bff just asked me to make her a scarf and I'm all "challenge accepted!!!" 😎 She wants it to be in blues and be snuggly - all other details are up to me. So I ask - and people out there, what is your favorite pattern for a scarf?

1. I started a new project last night and I'm learning how to do the herringbone stitch - I love it
2. we're making plans to have some friends over this weekend for dinner and board games
3. the valance for the cat suite is coming along nicely; the yarn is striping in a very lovely way (pic to come later)

is a mindset y'all, and it's a beautiful place to be ❤️

1. I finished my latest kimono using yarn I picked up in 2021 (no pattern, my own experiment)
2. I got to hang out with my and friends this weekend and J and I had dinner with friends that night
3. I've got 2 new projects lined up to get started that will both involve new techniques for me

1. walked 1.25 miles on the treadmill this morning
2. I got the new window treatment for the cat suite started last night, which meant learning a new skill (thanks for the inspiration @fugitive247 😊 )
3. I have a big to-do list but I'm feeling productive, so if you'll excuse me, I came to kick ass and chew bubble gum and I just ran out of gum

😉

The Dragon Shawl is done and it looks fantastic! Pattern is from Cottontail Whiskers - cottontailandwhiskers.com/amig

The pattern was fantastic, super easy to follow, and totally worth it.

1. I'm making really good progress on my Dragon Shawl ( pattern from Cottontail Whiskers)
2. tomorrow is my regularly scheduled monthly Friday off and J and I are going to start transforming the "guest room" into the "cat suite"
3. we made a very tasty and very healthy dinner last night of air fryer salmon with curry honey mustard, quinoa with peas, and zucchini and onions sautéed with a curry spice blend

1. by increasing my activity and being more mindful of what I was eating/drinking yesterday I managed to lose 3lbs (yes, I did this in a healthy way)
2. I've started a new project using the leftover yarn from my kimono - not sure if it'll be a scarf or a cowl yet, depends on how long it gets
3. I have a ridiculously busy day ahead of me, but it's an exciting kind of ridiculous

1. I spent time on Saturday hanging out with a group of and friends, made some new friends, and got to show off the new kimono
2. I started another of my "cheap & cheerful" redecorating projects and phase 1 is looking good
3. I got to talk to my niece on the phone yesterday for a few minutes; first time in 3 years ❤️

Bonus - I have a appt w/the psych doc today and we're going to talk about lowering my meds again 💚

I have no idea who else might be in the greater Omaha metro area, but if you are and you are at all involved in then you are welcome to join us

1. I had a long holiday weekend that was super productive, and now thanks to a conference on Th/Fri I have a really short work week
2. I took down a stuffy looking cornice board in my office and put up a simple black rod with ring/hooks and used an old table runner for a valance (I have ideas for covering where the brackets are)
3. I'm about 1/2 way done reading "A Wrinkle in Time" again and loving it every bit as much as when I was a kid

Apparently I would rather post pictures than work today, who knew?

This is an "in progress" shot of the crocheted kimono I'm working on. The pattern is there is no pattern, I am 100% winging this sucker. I've split for the two sides now and am still contemplating how to finish it. But I love it.

In true "me" style I have scrapped the Drop Stitch kimono and changed it to be a kimono of my own mad scientist design (which means I'm just making it up as I go). I am very much liking the way the multicolor is working up and I think adding in solid colored stripes is going to be a really nice effect.

Plus, I think I really want to wear this next week to a work retreat, and the knitting just was not going fast enough to suit me, so... 🤣

Calling on the , , and other peeps - what are your favorite quick and low cost projects to make?

1. Talyn is starting to get settled in and will even let me feed him treats sometimes
2. I made 7 small projects this weekend - and - two Swiffer duster "wigs" and two floor mop "socks" all using random bits of yarn
3. we have officially switched to full time (temporary) remote work again because they moved up the date for us to leave the current building and our space in the other isn't ready yet - I am not at all mad about this

A visual summary of my weekend. The pulled pork sandwiches were stupid easy - pork shoulder and 2 cans of root beer in a slow cooker for 6 hours and then doused with BBQ sauce for service, served with homemade fridge dill pickles. The wire flower is madd with random beads, wire, etc. The vase is an empty DiSaronno Amaretto bottle decorated with alcohol ink. The purple is the Meadow Lace Shrug. The jewelry happened this morning.

I legit need this week to be over. I'm not only *on* the Struggle Bus, but I think I'm *driving* the fucking thing. So, I'm going to do this lil mental exercise right here to (hopefully) help set things right-er in my brain.

1. made myself an awesome smoothie for breakfast
2. the Meadow Lace shrug will be finished today, complete with cuffs
3. had an awesome meeting with a faculty member this morning and I'm going to ride that "high" all damn day

💚

Waiting for some friends to come over for craft time so I decided to try making a shawl ring. Not bad.

1. I got up early this morning and did some before getting ready for work
2. today is tattoo day 🤩
3. one of my friends is coming over tomorrow to learn how to and for dinner
