I like the fact that I can say, with absolute certainty, where the moon or sun will rise in the sky each day. I love Actual Facts™. Scientific method. Peer reviewed documents. I’m a skeptic, although as we all know, we are absolutely and strongly biased towards those things we want to believe. But with people, politics? No idea. We can only guess. So random.

I’ll be spending a lot less time being engaged the next four years. I’ll continue to show up to vote, every election, there’s never any confusion about what I vote for. I want to remain physically and mentally okay. So pulling back from that is going to keep me there. Luckily we can #UseTheTools here to curate our own experience. I’ll be absolutely curating my feed aggressively.

I was watching Broadchurch a few nights ago and one of the main characters is facing the tremendous loss of her brother. And her boyfriend makes her a “happy place” where she can just go, listen to music, enjoy the lights, dance around. She was sick of being forced to stay at home, both sad but also -expected- to be sad. Sometimes we just need a safe “happy place” to be ourselves. However that manifests. I feel that way about CoSo.

Was listening to Leslie Jordan’s audiobook and he was talking about how the gay community made it through the AIDS epidemic and ended up being stronger on the other side of things. When they realized the government wasn’t going to do much for them, they turned inward, helped themselves. He also said that true happiness can only come from the selfless service to others. Or something like that. If true happiness is your thing. 😹
