It keeps happening, though. Over and over again.
@damselfly59 I think we made a lot of assumptions about what everyone is experiencing.
It seemed like a no-brainer to me to show up and stop the Orange Menace. Like obviously, no one wants to go through that again. Or obviously, every woman wants to protect reproductive rights.
Not so obvious to the ~100 million who didn't vote. @amarand
I’ll be spending a lot less time being engaged the next four years. I’ll continue to show up to vote, every election, there’s never any confusion about what I vote for. I want to remain physically and mentally okay. So pulling back from that is going to keep me there. Luckily we can #UseTheTools here to curate our own experience. I’ll be absolutely curating my feed aggressively.
@amarand I will not be curating my feed, except to bounce those who are constantly engaged in pointless outrage farming.
I think it's good practice in emotional intelligence to see things that I don't agree with and develop the tolerance to just let it scroll on by.
I think it's going to be a much needed skill in the real world as well. $0.02 @damselfly59
What is this “real world” you speak of? 😹
@amarand You know, Out There™, nearer to the Great Beyond. 😆@damselfly59
Oh! Shopping! 😹
@amarand My primary take-away from all of this?
We didn't do enough to convince people of the importance of casting their ballot, in no small part because we take that importance for granted.
It's obvious to us why we must vote. We didn't do much to make it more obvious to those who aren't engaged. #sadbuttrue
