So, my dog sitter is the Saint Roch of the modern era, and, as she does, she collected a runaway pup who was out in the road with its sibling/buddy (she couldn’t catch the brother). The dog had a collar, no tags, but quite clearly belongs somewhere. She’s checked with surrounding homes, took to the vet to scan for a chip (none), and is now putting up fliers. I offered to post a picture and her info on Next Door even though I live a town away from where the dogs were. I get a notification…
My mom, daughter, and I once reunited two adorable but devious dogs with their family after they evidently dug under their fence. THE IMPORTANT THING WAS GETTING THE DOGS BACK HOME. The rescue didn’t come with a pamphlet and a stern suggestion to fill in the tunnel under the fence. People are so whiny and judgmental. THE END and sorry, but I had to get that off my chest and didn’t want to do it on Next Door because that would be a whole thing and people wouldn’t even try to help the dog then…😂😤😡
Lost pet groups on Facebook are where all the women who offer pregnancy advice at the grocery store hang out until it's time to complain about the neighbor's yard.
@Cosmichomicide Thank you. I needed that. 😂
@LKNWoman exactly the kind of thing that chases me off every time. I look at our neighborhood’s posts and my brain begins to bleed. Those folks are not well… 😦🫨🫥🫥🫥
@NorCalCherylLyn I HATE Next Door and have it filtered to JUST show lost pets. I immediately blocked and muted those 2 commenters. Honestly.
@LKNWoman the dogs running free threads can be so ugly here. People are really nasty!
I joined Next Door just for the giggles. It absolutely kills me not to reply to the incessant, "Were those gunshots?" posts (on fireworks holidays mostly).
IT'S BEGUN! INCOMING! RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!
And then sit on the porch with a glass of wine and watch. 😈
@Cosmichomicide @LKNWoman I thought I could lurk but found some of those people triggered me so bad I had to quit! My daughter and her hubby’s family are area icons so I need to keep my mouth shut. And it saves my BP from spiking. 🤭🤐🫥
@NorCalCherylLyn @Cosmichomicide I have blocked more people on Next Door than I have any other site! 😂 That tells you everything you need to know! It makes me grateful for the neighbors who are actually near me whom I know. But I’m like, “What happened to the rest of y’all?”
@LKNWoman @Cosmichomicide I think they’ve gone collectively nuts! They forget they’re talking to actual neighbors. 🤦🏻♀️
and there are two replies, both bitching about “why don’t people have fenced in yards” and boohoo how they’re so tired of these list animals because OF COURSE! I didn’t ask for your opinion — I’m trying to help a dog find its family. But thanks for the time-waster. Go post your shitty opinion about how only people who can afford fenced in yards should have pets over on Facebook. Maybe the dogs jumped the fence. Do you know? NO. You don’t.
