So, my dog sitter is the Saint Roch of the modern era, and, as she does, she collected a runaway pup who was out in the road with its sibling/buddy (she couldnā€™t catch the brother). The dog had a collar, no tags, but quite clearly belongs somewhere. Sheā€™s checked with surrounding homes, took to the vet to scan for a chip (none), and is now putting up fliers. I offered to post a picture and her info on Next Door even though I live a town away from where the dogs were. I get a notificationā€¦

and there are two replies, both bitching about ā€œwhy donā€™t people have fenced in yardsā€ and boohoo how theyā€™re so tired of these list animals because OF COURSE! I didnā€™t ask for your opinion ā€” Iā€™m trying to help a dog find its family. But thanks for the time-waster. Go post your shitty opinion about how only people who can afford fenced in yards should have pets over on Facebook. Maybe the dogs jumped the fence. Do you know? NO. You donā€™t.

Lost pet groups on Facebook are where all the women who offer pregnancy advice at the grocery store hang out until it's time to complain about the neighbor's yard.
