Not advocating, just seeing what others think.

What would be your reaction to someone posting misogynistic, racist, or pro-MAGA content on CoSo but keeping it behind content warnings and using hashtags to allow filtering?
Should intolerance be tolerated if it's behind a warning and provides ways filtering?

@Jeber I generally don’t view anything that’s hidden behind content warnings here, even from people I follow, so I likely wouldn’t notice

@Jeber There is nothing in the rules of engagement requiring us to tolerate intolerance.
If somebody posts misogynistic content, whether or not it is behind a warning, I will probably feel compelled to point this out.

@Jeber No.

Hatred hidden behind a filter is still hatred.

@Jeber No, report and block them and they will be gone very quickly. No racist, fascist, or misogynist trash here please. Watch out sometimes they creat multiple accounts so check them all off.

@Jeber giving intolerance a platform is giving it a thumbs up, so that's a no from me.

@Jeber
Nope.
Free speech is fine until it causes harm or death.
U.S. court system has upheld these caveats to the First Amendment.

@Jeber MAGA in general I might let pass, but hate speech behind a curtain is still hate speech and can not be tolerated.

@Jeber I am torn. I believe in free speech, but this isn't necessarily a public forum. Somebody owns the site and regulates content. And I don't want to see such material. So that's my leaning no, but hesitant answer.

@poemblaze @Jeber
Freedom of speech does not equate to freedom from consequences.

@Jeber
Attacking a person for race, ethnic group, or gender is ALWAYS wrong and should never be tolerated under any circumstances.

@Jeber

misogynistic, racist?

absofuckinlutely not

CW is not a free pass to violate ToS

be asshat, get splat

if someone wants to post stuff with which ya simply do not agree; but not in violation of ToS, mute em and move on

@Jeber if the Wizard of Oz taught us anything, NEVER ignore the man behind the curtain.

@Jeber I wouldn’t support posts of intolerance. I believe it create an hostile environment. Individuals making bigotry their mainstay are the same people who would direct message their hate to others prior to being removed. I personally enjoy a nice stress free social media experience. However I tend to avoid conflict while pursuing a resolution.

@Jeber
No.
Whether it's behind a CW or not, it violates the TOS and clearly falls into the less specific "don't be a dick" category.

@Jeber

absolutely NOT!

It is possible for Conservatives to NOT be total assholes, I can't wait until they get back to being more like McCaine. 🤦

@Jeber nope, nope nope, etc. if you cannot use civil language to express your differences from others, then i don't want to hear about it, nor do i want such activity going on in the background here. it would make me very nervous to have this as the CoSo subconscious, so to speak.
critique, sometimes even sharp critique is fine, but there's no need to tolerate abuse in any form. it's always an attempt to disrupt and control. always. tolerance of any abuse is dangerous to civil society.

@Jeber If CoSo decides it is against their tos, it shouldn't matter it it was behind a warning.

@Jeber

Nope.
We don't tolerate bigotry.
If someone could manage to be pro-MAGA/Trump and NOT be bigoted or trolling, we wouldn't give them the boot... though the few who have managed ended up going away on their own because they weren't comfortable here.

@Jeber I'd ignore it unless/until they failed to CW something.

My primary tool is Ignore; actually have never blocked or muted anyone.

Filter the word puzzle graphics only because they chew up real estate.

@Jeber Intolerance, misogyny, racism etc hidden behind a CW or warning is no less intolerant, misogynistic, racist, and no more acceptable.

Gonna be a hard no from me.

@Jeber Intolerance should never have to be tolerated. After six, nearly seven years of magat BS I’m just sick and tired of it. They’ve got their own patch, and now they’ve got the birdie hellsite, they don’t need this one.
