Getting new wheels for the truck. Looking for opinions! Which do you like most? Poll in reply post...

@peeppeepcircus I wonder how long it will take this thing to offset the carbon footprint associated with it's own construction...

@Paul13 How long would the gas last in a tank if it was only used, say once a year. I think BEV is the way to go. The F150 Lightning looks perfect to me.

@JasonCrocker616 Regular voters won't get stricken from the rolls!

@NorthernInvader

Ouch! We need this kind of honest communication to become the norm from scientists who are beginning to grasp how bad things really are...

@cassandra17lina Governments and such will do what they do, but individuals can make a difference. We all need to invest our personal wealth in ways that, at the very least, doesn't further the problem. The irony is that these same scientists likely drive gas cars and fly a half dozen time a year for conferences that don't actually need to attend in person. The path forward is crystal clear; the motivation of boomers etc. to walk it is lacking.

Scientists are learning to communicate less modestly. This is a good thing. The situation is really bad now, and we need to motivate action.

@NorthernInvader Batteries don't have ranges. Cars do. Aerodynamics, rolling resistance, weight: these things affect range. Take this spiffy with a healthy dose of skepticism. Solid state batteries will be a player in a few years, but these claims smack of BS.

@sloudermilk Have any other Senators (esp leadership) stepped up to the mic about this, or are they all being silent?

An auto industry initiative (Open Vehicle-Grid Integration Platform (OVGIP)) to consolidate all EV vehicle batteries potential into one group that can work with grid operators for energy sharing and load balancing.

@CyberPlayGround BlueTriton also owns Poland Spring. They draw from Maine aquifers and are feeling the heat in this state "as well".

The leaves on the Maple tree are starting to turn, and nights are getting darker and cooler. Time to bust out the backup heating.

@peeppeepcircus @SandHillThicket The IRA that Biden passed is fairly significant. Those rebates are real money that incentivize people to do the things needed to mitigate their carbon footprint. Last year I upgraded my insulation, put up solar, upgraded my electrical service and installed a geothermal heating and cooling system. The feds payed for 30% of all of that thanks to the IRA. If you care about the environment, the single biggest way you can help is to assist democrats to get elected.

Tell me what is wrong with the world without telling me that anything is wrong with the world...

@MotherDucker While I have found that while GENERALLY it is a waste of effort to talk sense and science with such a person, sometimes you find someone with an open mind. Before cutting him off, try to express your beliefs in a sympathetic way, and express how distressed you are that he doesn't recognize the environmental impacts of human activity. (Leave Trump out of it IMO).
