@peeppeepcircus I already know it is. That's why I live where I live. I picked a high resilience, low risk location with one eye on future climate impacts. The second paragraph is what home buyers should be thinking of first and foremost. Most have no idea, and are buying into very risky investments.

@cjtownsend @JazzCrafter Don't fall for the hype. AI is just really good curve fitting.
@MakerWerks Valued commodities are generally considered a good bet during periods of tumultuous uncertainty. But you may be late to the party there. Many are priced high already.
@DavidSalo I believe that the concern stems from breaches of voting tabulation systems that occurred inn advance of the 2020 election in Georgia. The code that tabulates counts was in the wild, and could have been decompiled by hackers to discern how it could be modified and re-injected into systems with minimal contact. Unless a recount occurs, paper ballots are not counted by hand. The electronic tabulator spits out counts, and if the tabulator spits out incorrect counts you won't know.
@Charles_Hawtrey It's about time. I left almost 5000 followers there nearly two years ago. I had an account here that I started in 2018? but I had not logged into in in years when I came back, and it was either weeded away or otherwise inaccessible. Even by the fall of 2022 it was evident that twitter was sinking into the 4chan muck (or Musk).
@Victor Articles like this are so cringe. When half the homes, and significant infrastructure, in a city are flood-prone, and half of the residents (i.e. the tax base) are seriously considering fleeing, you have a recipe for municipal and county financial collapse. Would you buy into that situation if it was cogently explained, even if the house was attractively priced and described as one of the "Best Places to Live"? I wouldn't. #climatechange
The day Trump gets elected is the hottest Nov. 06 on record in Maine. 72 degrees where I am and 73 in Portland. Nov 06 2020 was 71 degrees. #climatechange #harbinger #politics
@ChelseaGirl429 I'm getting awful lag from youtube.tv on this live coverage of ,La's closing argument... #politics
@nursefrombirth Publishing this in the NYT is basically virtue signaling. It won't reach the people that it should be targeted at. It should be published in papers such at the Atlanta Journal Constitution, The Philadelphia Inquirer, The Charlotte Observer, etc..
@AnnetteTRemain Nothing is free in Elon's world. You have to pay a tithe to him for everything.
@Bliss @Razdawg22 I'm team Dem. The numbers I gave were about state reps and state senators that represent towns in my county. Federally, my state might lose a congressional district. It will be close.
@Razdawg22 We are in pretty good shape in my corner of the world. I am a county campaign manager in a battleground county. All of our state incumbents will be re-elected and we have a shot at maybe picking up a seat or two. #politics
I think Florida is done and just doesn't know it yet. There will be trillions in damages, and insurance companies will evacuate or suffer major loses. The costs of continuing to live there will be unsustainable. It may not be this storm that does it, or even any one storm, but that day is coming faster than expected.
@th3j35t3r That was a fine documentary!
@MrGoat Somehow, all this BS traces back to a guy that "hung himself" in jail. It's all about rich folks protecting themselves.
@peeppeepcircus @NorthernInvader As my son said, at a youth engagement affair, when asked about what the issues were top-of-mind heading into the election: "Climate change! Everything else is a first world problem. If we don't get it right on Climate change, nothing else will matter. We will not be."
@altucker If you state isn't part of the National Popular Vote interstate compact, lobby your representatives at the state level to join. Then the electoral college can be functionally eliminated without a constitutional convention.
