People who are, justly, upset by the results of the 2024 presidential election are suspecting foul play and talking about recounts.

I agree that something is very off with the results. However, it's not something that recounts are going to change. The very low turnout, in comparison to 2020, is suggestive of widespread, effective vote *suppression*, which can be done by various means: not providing mailed ballots or drop-off points, misleading information about places and times...

@DavidSalo I believe that the concern stems from breaches of voting tabulation systems that occurred inn advance of the 2020 election in Georgia. The code that tabulates counts was in the wild, and could have been decompiled by hackers to discern how it could be modified and re-injected into systems with minimal contact. Unless a recount occurs, paper ballots are not counted by hand. The electronic tabulator spits out counts, and if the tabulator spits out incorrect counts you won't know.
