What is "Apotome" ?

A browser-based tool for exploring, creating, hearing, and playing microtonal tuning systems.

A lot to explore start here, and then play with it yourself.

What is Apotome? A Short Introduction.

Jacob Collier's new arrangement of Bridge Over Troubled Water is one of his best yet. And the best part is Tori Kelly's phenomenal solo starting at about 3:30. I don't know how I had not heard her before, but she is easily one of the most skilled pop vocalists in recent years:

Lest you think this is all autotuned, be prepared to have your mind blown:

Shout out to those struggling but not wincing or crying aloud.

Shout out to the broken that hold it in for the sole reason as not to make more broken things.

You're awesome, and I want to be you when I grow up. ❤️🤗

This is HUGE!!!

and nerds, start your engines: Ableton has created another interactive educational site, this one on tuning systems. It has widgets where you can edit the code directly in the browser to create sequences in any existing tuning or your own custom one, and export to a Live set. I've only just gone through the site once, and I'm blown away.

All of the other social media sites—yes, all of them—exist to sell everything about you.

Don't take our word for it. Go to your nearest App Store and read their Data Privacy Disclosures.

We're different. We stay online through the generous subscriptions of our Pro users.

No conspiracy talk please.

The ship had a catastrophic electrical power failure as it approached the bridge. Wind and tide caused a radical and uncontrolled change of course (see last two Suez canal accidents).

Key Bridge was very old and under constant repair every day for at least the last 30yrs.

It could not have been a better time for the worst to happen. Hour and a half before rush hour. Casualties should be light. Mostly from bridge repair crews.

I didn't think the Flyers power play could possibly get any worse than it's been the last several seasons.

Maybe Danny Briere could take the elevator downstairs and suit up?

Here's some samples of the concert I performed in and recorded yesterday.

The choir is made up of volunteers from various community and church choirs that are friends with the organizers, and is mostly amateur. Orchestra is all pros. The only rehearsal all together is the morning of the concert.

Before listening, go into audio options at the bottom and enable lossless. 😎

On this day in 1743 George Frideric Handel's oratorio "Messiah" premieres at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London

What a day. In the past 12 hours, I have:

1. Set up for recording a choir and orchestra concert, including multiple mics, stands, and 60 lbs of counterweights.

2. Attended rehearsal as choir member.

3. Performed in concert.

4. Tore down and drove back.

5. Did post work on recording.

6. Delivered recording to client. (I donated my services as this was a benefit concert.) They needed it done in a week, but I like to get the product out as soon as possible.

^ Just to be clear, I do not want this thread to become a fanboy/girl flame war. I'm a longtime Android devotee and I'm giving Apple the benefit of the doubt here, because the case to me is a head-scratcher.

I want to focus on the legal issues. You would think the DOJ knows what they're doing if they're even going to file this. What am I missing?

Thoughts on the antitrust case?

My first reaction is that it's going to be extremely difficult to prove.

I've long been critical of Apple's walled garden and their massive markups on components like storage and RAM, but I understand their appeal and clearly so do millions of customers.

I could have bought an iPhone but I chose Android devices because that's what I prefer. Does Apple really make it that hard to move away?

OH DEAR. THIS POST WAS SET TO SELF-DETONATE 💣 💥 🔥
