Just for accountability:
I'm three weeks nicotine free π
I'm starting to feel like I will beat it this time around.
Cold turkey was rough, but I'm kind of glad and I hope I never forget how horrible it's been because I do *not* want to go through it again!
I am a non-smoker (write it 100 times π€£).
@stueytheround Congratulations!
@AlphaCentauri Maybe just a couple. Diabetes and all that! π€£π€£
@stueytheround it was hard for me for about a year but I made it, haben smashed in 40 yrs, you can do it
@stueytheround You're doing great! I managed to quit smoking cold turkey for a few years, but later I had a lot of problems due to alcoholism. I'm almost 18 months sober, but now I'm back on nicotine. I want to quit that again, too, but for now I'm just happy to not be drinking anymore. Anyway those first three weeks are no joke and you're already way stronger than you thought you were three weeks ago, so here's to another three, and three more after that, and so on!
@rexling Thank you. Of the two you're dealing with, nicotine is the one less likely to impact your day to day life immediately. Seems you have your priorities straight. A year and a half sober is a huge achievement.

Congratulations, Stuey!!!
How to be a non-smoker post-withdrawal:
1. Admit withdrawal is over. (Craving is no longer a valid βexcuseβ for giving in & going back. Tell any thoughts/craving to eff off)
2. Commit to never *holding* a cig with your hands again. Itβs now Hot Lava!
@ATXJane Brilliant! Yes. Thank you.
@stueytheround good job!

@stueytheround
You can do it buddy! I was sick for about 10 days in 2017 and didn't smoke any, after that there were two cigarettes left in a pack I threw them away and I made it. The hardest part was breaking the cigarette with a beer habit. All good now though don't even want one ever. Hang in there amigo, you can do it!
@stueytheround nice one bud, well done !!! Just think with the extra cash you can get yourself a nice new amp or guitar π
@stueytheround Congrats! It is so hard, but you can do this! I have been smoke-free for 16 years.
@stueytheround Outstanding! Those are the hardest 3 weeks.
