Put another way--how many people, would have to get how dirty in order for the evaporation to happen? What are the mechanics & what would it take to get the "right" people in position to carry out that order?

It seems like the received wisdom that if Trump wins the election that the federal cases against him will evaporate instantly. But the naif in me wants to cling to hope that someone at the DOJ would balk at such transparent corruption. Is it really too much to expect that there would be enough people of integrity at DOJ that there would be some sort of resistance?

It strikes me that this is the "fool me once" provision of the US constitution. If you swear an oath to the constitution, and then (quite spectacularly) break it, you don't get a second chance to swear again.
