Possibly against my better judgement, and because the gnawing pit in my stomach demands it...

In my teens, I'd heard similar stories of crystal drano being tightly wrapped in plastic sandwich bags, like twigs, then shoved into vehicle gas pipes. Can't verify; for sanity, I regarded such talk as urban folklore.

Blocking a follow request from a new, random entity reinforces the conviction that my personal list of 💩 which shall not be tolerated, exists for good reasons.

@disk4mat One of the hopes I have always had for America, is if it truly became a melting pot, of people from everywhere, it would be full of people who cared about _someone_ from _everywhere else_. It would give us connection and feelings of responsibility to other places.

Imagine now, if everywhere did that, instead of pretending people from different places are from "somewhere else".

We're _all here on Earth_.

It looks like a young mourning dove. Is there any way you can temporarily secure a small box to the railing? I'd toss in some grass clippings for bedding and leave one side open so it can hop along the railing.

@cassandra17lina

only thing someone should ever ask a disaster victim :

are you ok?

Do you need anything?

Before you ask why storm victims didn’t evacuate despite warnings of catastrophic flooding, please consider that many folks don’t have cars, have no family or friends to stay with, can’t afford gasoline or hotels, don’t dare risk losing their jobs because they can’t return in time, can’t safely evacuate their elderly loved ones, won’t leave without their pets, or they have legitimate health concerns about staying in shelters. Poor shaming them during a catastrophe is not a good look.

And, no, I'm not going to edit out the Sunday night dupe. Yes, I am that rattled this morning.

It strengthened my dedication to stay sober. I knew that dealing with this new understanding of my chosen duty would require the sharpest mind I could bring to it.

I grew up in an unexpected way that next morning. I came to a new place of self awareness & acceptance

I finally knew who I was

Personally, totally relatable in terms of surving DV. We do whatever it takes to not pick up that first drink/drug, period.

So, of course I kept 15 home the past two days. Thank goodness Ms. Dewey, the MHPS superintendent, had the sense and compassion to excuse those absences. Of course, naturally, it's time to get everyone back on track.

My oldest died only two years ago.

This past April, 23 survived a rollover wreck.

My youngest attends American public school in .

I don't have access to my car until 23's is fixed.

Powerlessness, uncertainty, and anxiety are a bitch of a combination.

It feels weird, almost unsettling, to have the place to myself today. For two weeks, 23 was pet sitting in town. Glad that's done. Well, during that period, he started a new job and was picking up 15 from school in the afternoons. As of yesterday afternoon, though, his car is at the mechanic's until further notice, so he's driving mine.

Then, late on Sunday night, several regional school districts received threats of violence via social media...
