This bird was standing in the yard yesterday morning. It’s injured. Lola was right behind me, so I scooted it into the wooded area to get away from her, and hoped for the best. I just got home, and here the darn thing is, sitting on my front porch railing. There’s really nothing I can do for it, and I feel like it’s hoping I can. I feel bad.

It looks like a young mourning dove. Is there any way you can temporarily secure a small box to the railing? I'd toss in some grass clippings for bedding and leave one side open so it can hop along the railing.
@fugitive247 I do have a small bird house in the shape of a gas pump that I can easily put there for it.
