When a place makes their own dough, sauce, and grates the cheese on site, ir doesn't need toppings. Just some oregano and a bit of red pepper flakes to enhance what is perfect as is.

I just received an email from my favorite Congressperson, Katie Porter. She has been re-elected! I have been pulling for her and am so happy her constituents came through.
She represents a traditionally red district, but I think even they realize what an asset she is to them, California and the US.
So grateful to be able to see her infamous White Board for two more years.

I have a confession to make: I have been unable to follow election results or read the news this morning. I have gathered GOP has garnered more seats. But I am not ready for the details. Losing democracy is really just too much to bear. I am hoping my constitution will be strong enough to educate myself in a couple days. But right now, I am worn down. I am keeping my exposure to a minimum.

So far my visit to CoSo feels a lot like a trip into Canada. Everyone is so polite and ready to embrace the refugees- yet kindly setting boundaries so we don’t step over lines of decency, whilst making sure we have what we need to contribute. I’m liking this.

Wandered over to the Bird app to do some unfollowing and blocking and such. It's a weird combo of blue checks and big accounts yelling about staying and fighting fascism and accounts posting slurs and creepy memes.

Starting to wonder if they know it's social media and not the beaches of Normandy.

Went to a production of the classic Romeo and Juliet last evening at CalShakes. Perfect weather. Staging was beautifully done. Actors were superb as always at CalShakes. This production was in Spanish/English and re-titled Romeo y Juliet. By the end of the evening, I felt like I understood Spanish! The interleaving of the two languages was amazing. Then, when Romeo and Juliet were both women and made me believe Will S would have loved it. Brava!
