I posted this link as a reply recently but I'm posting it again. Its about how a little gay bar in NYC being raided sparked push back that led to a protest parade that became a movement and a celebration the pride of LGBTQ+ people. What started as 100 people marching toward central park became 15 block of people as people joined along the way. Today (54 years later) it stretches across the nation as a month of Pride in who we are.

A local TV news reporter, Lisa Weismann of ABC News 4 (WCIV), came out this morning and did a lovely report on my efforts to get Bugs, the Wonder Cat, to a vet to close that big hole in his belly. Thanks to her report, which aired on the 6 p.m. broadcast, the "Save Bugs" fund is now up to $1,481, about halfway to the goal. Bugs needs surgery, boarding & meds. Won't you help me help him? 😃

No, the USA has not ever had marriage equality.

Even when marriage was opened up to the gay community the disabled community was not allowed to marry without losing their access to healthcare. Which is not a concern of Pride Month or a reflection on the LGBTQ+ community, but is still an issue.

Quick reminder as we roll into Pride month...

If you don't have place for ace, agender, bisexual, or disabled people you are not inclusive. You're just recreating gatekeeping for the next generation.

We're close to the end of the month, and we're shaking the cushions for change to meet J halfway.

Can you imagine what the election cycle would be without this place? Can you imagine all of the calamities we face without this oasis of safety and integrity?
