For a lot of us, we lacked a way to address what we are, or who we are until we were much older, sometimes well beyond puberty in order to receive the care and treatment we needed. For some of us, this didn't become available until recent years, so I'm sure you can imagine how many transfolk were closeted during the 80's and 90's and well past the early 2000's and trying to get the care and support they need to be who they are and not what society wants us to pretend to be. #LGBTQ

Some LGBTQ facts that most don't know about us.
Not all of us transition. Some of us are on blockers in our prepubescent stage to help us find a plan and path that works for our identity. While others of us are okay with our body though we identify as nonbinary.
Our population is actually a lot smaller than most people assume, given the bad media and press about us. We number less than 1% of the LGBTQ community, and that makes us less than .2% in the US population. Tiny demography here! #LGBTQ

Another way you can help is volunteering, or donating to legal groups helping fight these bills from being put to law. ACLU and HRC are a big presence in helping us fight for equal rights, and fair laws nationally. Another group to be aware of that's fighting back is Equality Texas, Southern Equality, and Outfront! Even a small donation to them helps us in a BIG way. #LGBTQ

If you want to help fight back against the bills and legislation trying to hurt the LGBTQ+ community and population of the US, here's how you can start. Contact your state representatives and house members, you have the facts, you have the science based studies relating to the benefits of gender affirming care for all of us, push them to understand that they must not allow these bills to pass into law. #LGBTQ

I'm no professional writer, but I've used chat, email and forums since the birth of the internet. English is my native tongue and I can write a hell of a speech if I'm given cause for it. What's going on in the US with the LGBTQ and transfolk, is abhorrent and a nightmare for anyone in the community. I tossed and turned last night thinking over all of this. No rest for the weary and frightened I suppose. I ask you, if someone speaks hate, speak out against it. One word is all.

You are watching a genocide of an entire section of the US population every time you vote for these antiLGBTQ bills, every time you allow someone to speak hate about us, every time you listen to a church leader pray for our "cure" or deaths. There's so many states right now that have active antiLGBTQ bills being debated over, Churches and leaders speaking hate against us, but not one of them have a clue what it's like to live in this kind of fear. Too long has the LGBTQ+ and trans community lived in fear of the christonationalists and evangelicals. Many of us have been scared into closets time and time again because of incidents just like last nights shooting. I don't know how many here understand the type of fear these shootings strike among us.

I'm saying it out loud. More than HALF of this countries population has no protections for their bodily rights, 8% of this nations adult population is risking the loss of our marital rights and protections, more than 1% of us are transgender in the US. When women have no say over their bodies, ALL OF US SUFFER FOR IT! 50.5% of the US population are women. 49.9% are men. The effects of RvW overruling is a ripple effect for everyone, not just women.
