Today I got a paid Sunday off (I work weekends at the Hospital. My husband works Monday-Friday—so it’s a big deal for us.) I am 100% certain we couldn’t have spent it any better. Breakfast, surprise mini-golf, first time for Kiddo. Though when we told her the last time hubs and I went mini-golfing was when I was pregnant with her, she insisted this was her second time. We came home, read books, watched a movie, hubs did some gardening then board games after dinner until story time then sleep. ❤️

Unexpected day off from work so mini-golf here we come!

This last two weeks leading up to Independence Day have felt like a year. The amateur fireworks have scared the beans out of me every night. Every single night. I’m an aggressively light sleeper. And once I’m up, I’m up. 😫 I’m exhausted.

Ahh, supply chain budget cuts….

The eldest niece (13) remembers our wedding in the Hindu Temple. But hasn’t any idea about Hinduism beyond the cool clothes she wore to our wedding.

I was raised Catholic. I was good at being Catholic. But too many straws for this camel… the final one being the fact that the church would not recognize my marriage as valid. Why would I want to bring my child up that way?

I’m so worried Ohio is going to fall in line with this bible business.

Something I noticed last week, is that I don’t think my sister is teaching my nieces and nephew that my husband and child and I do not follow Catholic tradition. It was very confusing for my 6yo when her cousin asked her why she was eating already (without praying.) When I explained she doesn’t know about it 11yo niece and 8 yr old nephew were like, “you don’t even pray?” I tried to explain that we do, just in different ways… but there was a look on their faces that made me feel uncomfortable.

Took Kiddo to the art museum yesterday and we went to see the Korean Couture exhibit. I can’t believe how much she absolutely loved it. We sat on a bench and watched three runway reels featuring so many of the looks in the gallery. This was our fave.

I’m not trying to brag, but I attended a really haute fashion show today after work. They gave me mashed potatoes and buttered crackers at the door and lavished me with blingy swag 💍. I was the holder of the most exclusive ticket in town 🎟️ or the only ticket, come to think of it. The models were only like 50% plastic. A bit of fiber filler and synthetic hair. The looks were innovative for sure. (I’ve been assured it’s a skin matching shirt.)

Well folks, I’m done for tonight. Thanks for going through that terrible ordeal with me. And thanks to those who valiantly encouraged me not to go through with it, even though I didn’t listen. I can admit when I’m wrong. And I was.
