Something I noticed last week, is that I donāt think my sister is teaching my nieces and nephew that my husband and child and I do not follow Catholic tradition. It was very confusing for my 6yo when her cousin asked her why she was eating already (without praying.) When I explained she doesnāt know about it 11yo niece and 8 yr old nephew were like, āyou donāt even pray?ā I tried to explain that we do, just in different waysā¦ but there was a look on their faces that made me feel uncomfortable.
The eldest niece (13) remembers our wedding in the Hindu Temple. But hasnāt any idea about Hinduism beyond the cool clothes she wore to our wedding.
I was raised Catholic. I was good at being Catholic. But too many straws for this camelā¦ the final one being the fact that the church would not recognize my marriage as valid. Why would I want to bring my child up that way?
Iām so worried Ohio is going to fall in line with this bible business.
@Wbtphdjd I mean more along the lines of forcing public schools to teach the Bibleā¦ I mean, I canāt see it happening. But again, I hadnāt foreseen any of todayās Supreme Court decisions that are absolutely ludicrous and deeply harmful

It would be okay with me if they kept their beliefs to themselves. It would be even better if they didn't insist everyone must believe what they believe.
@MotherDucker I validate that worry. I worry the country is going to be swallowed up by wackadoos hiding behind bibles.
