@Bix At this point Xitter has xit the bed so badly that the more unifying thing for the people, if we were to follow this fool's fractured logic, would be to acquire Xitter and shut it down.

The only thing gained by propping up Xitter is to save the value of the investment made by the financial powers-that-be into Musk's acquisition of it so that they can pat themselves on the backs for surviving their own horrible judgment

Just to make you aware. Next week is thanksgiving. I get a 4 day weekend so I'll have some extra time. I will be checking up that everybody has paid their
If you're behind, prepare your payments for when I come knocking.

@Notokay @Kurtroedeger @Fiikus_goddess @process Good shirt!

Somewhat related, I'm finally getting the hang of gluten free lasagna. The counterintuitive thing about making it GF is to not cook the noodles before layering, and rest it at least 10 minutes after it comes out instead of cooking it for additional time.

Picked up two 2900lb pumps today. When I arrived at the shop one of them was leaking oil profusely. I alerted the chain of command who are largely in meetings today.

Later our most experienced outside sales guy comes into the shop. Took one look at the pump and said don't worry about it. That model has a grease frame, not oil. Nobody knows why that much cutting oil was left in a pump, but it isn't likely a defect.

While Day of Remembrance is officially about those we've lost through direct violence, I choose to expand it.

We lose many more Trans people (and other groups) to indirect violence - suicide. Those who choose this option aren't doing so because the world is all sunshine and flowers. Their world and hope has been whittled away until they see no other option but to sleep forever.

Forced micro-dosing of hate & violence can kill you as easily as an asshole with a gun.

@Ms420 Might be. I got them while still a PSO but since my license and registrations have both lapsed I might be on shaky ground. But I excel at avoiding a fight, so if the batons come out things have already reached a point where figuring it out later is the thing to do.

@Ms420 I have many good knives. But if going into a sketchy situation I also have these, with a nice swivel holster for the straight one that lets me get it in the small of my back along the belt line. And I have some training with them. Then there's my long sword, which GingerCat has dubbed Kindness

Knives fit perfectly in your boot or the zippo pocket on most jeans, as do pepper spray, pocket tasers, and tactical spikes (kubotans).
Do ANYTHING it takes to protect yourself.
Don't let them think you are theirs for the taking.

@nursefrombirth This is the way. They're going to spend us into debt, so any belt tightening now is futile. See that important issues get needed funding now because many wont going forward

Raimondo’s new mission: Leave no cash for Trump

The Biden administration is aiming to commit nearly every unspent dollar in its $50 billion microchip-subsidy program before President-elect Donald Trump takes over in January, an effort that would effectively cement a massive industrial legacy before the GOP can reverse course.

Later seasons of Voyager tried to make a joke out of "Janeway is bad at cooking" because she couldn't get the replicator to produce her grandmother's recipes. But since the replicator is just a computer interpreting code, what this means is that Janeway was bad at *programming.*

Which implies that: 1/

Good morning everyone..

I don’t know if you saw it yet but our first assignment (for those whom it matters), is to make sure that dissent is never stifled by bills.

Please take a look, call on this and urge everyone you know to do the same.

We will need to be vigilant and active because they (who have lots of money) certainly will be trying to push things through that will silence the people.

@cylon_dxd @sentientdessert Avian flu is one factor. On top of that here in Oregon (and NV, I just saw) and some other regions is the cage free mandate. Better policy for both health and non-cruelty reasons but it does come with a price tag.

BTW, most (if not all) Boomers are immune to monkey pox.

Why? Because smallpox vax were mandatory. Because science was trusted.

We eliminated smallpox.

Monkeypox won’t hurt seniors.

So explain to me why RFK Jr is smart?
