@hanse @JRBSays Not a good look for the pinnacle of motorsports. I imagine a lot of those fans are used to the Indycar and NASCAR treatment, and access. America seems to be a jinx for F1. I remember watching the '05 US GP, the tyre issues, when fans were lobbing cans at the track.

@brainwise @AskTheDevil I was using DC++ comic hubs back in the day. Happy times.

We've been stuck with having to use Kindle for a few years in the UK. Not fit for purpose.

Today is World Diabetes Day. It is marked every year on 14th of November, the birthday of Sir Frederick Banting, who co-discovered insulin along with Charles Best in 1922.

@divisionbyzero Smith's final season / Capaldi's run, because it's more like a modern take on the classic. I like the addition of the bookshelves too - and it has a minibar. 😄 I have Capaldi's in Steam VR.

@volcheck Not entirely sure on the numbers but it's up toward the higher end. No-nonsense interface (no podcast or audiobook clutter) and it's CD quality or higher. I recently cut back on my streaming services and dropped Apple & Amazon in favour of Tidal and Qobuz. Spotify is shared with my other half so that's not going anywhere. 😏

@duglop I was a mix tape cassette snob back in my teens; had to be the type 4 tapes and Dolby C NR.

So far today I've streamed hi-res music on Qobuz, listened to CDs bought in my teens, and played vinyl the same age as me. Just need a cassette player... nah, fuck that hissy shit.

I have fond memories of Diwali as an inquisitive Welsh boy in a Hindu comminuty, in 80's Guyana: Euphoric music, lantern stars at night, beautiful people in colourful clothes, delicious food; festooned in powders. Alive.

In contrast: a breaf stay of fear and beatings at a Georgetown catholic school, before my Mother's intervention, then lifted back to Wales to endure dreary sermons delivered by monotone men in white frocks; shivering in damp mohogony echo chambers. Thus was my road to atheism.

@LiseL Oh, I very much doubt that... it annoys the crap out of me 😅

Watched an episode of 'Enterprise' earlier on. It's been a long time (*groans*).

I liked watching the show at the time, but I utterly, utterly loathe everything about the theme tune. The end theme sounds like what they pipe-in during award acceptance speeches to hint that's its time to shut up and bugger off.

@th3j35t3r Just read up on their feud; I know their music well but not their history. Fascinates me that group members bicker and feud and still produce masterpieces. Channeling it all into the music I guess. 🤘

@DarksideStraxus Yep, I've come across that a good few times; 4K video, fancy lighting, shit sound. Makes me sad, thinking of all those unfilled compressors and limiters. Plugins have feelings too. 😞😉

@Magnetron1 There were a few hundred gathered in parts of Wales this weekend as well.

@Pat_Walrond Noticed the Barbados flag in your name: I and my parents lived in Guyana during the mid 80's, and we used to regularly visit Barbados; the hotel we stayed in was called Boomers. A few years ago I cleaned up all of the video 8 footage my dad had filmed, including the Atlantis submarine; I was a seven-ish.

Lovely weather in Swansea. Concluding my 10 days off with a weekend stay at Clyne Castle - our family apartment.

@0x56 I've still got bags of SCART and S Video cables in the attic - you know, just in case... 📹😉😂
