Only 13 loans have been 'returned'.

@redbarchetta3

^^^^ How much do you wanna bet there's a link between the Trumps and / or Kushners and these guys. They're in the same business.

@th3j35t3r just to sum up - Monty Bennett, Ashford Director, gave $209,500 to the Trump campaign and the Republicans. By total coincidence, Ashford received $92 million from PPP.

@redbarchetta3 @th3j35t3r

That is an incredible return on his initial investment.

@Expecting_Words @th3j35t3r Did they think they could hide this? Better yet, did they even think to hide this? It didn’t take that long to figure out.

@redbarchetta3 @th3j35t3r

Imagine Monty Bennet spent that 200 grand or so on magical crack that transformed the people who smoked it into life-size gold statues of themselves. So he sells this magic crack and fiends are turning into statues left and right. And he's lifting them out with a helicopter, taking them to a refinery and melting them down to make ingots. Then he sells those.

Even the magical crime I just made up wouldn't have that rate of return.

Consistently, if I want to know what’s going on, have to come to

^^^ Meanwhile - White House refuses to say who's actually getting small business loans. "We're not concerned with cobbling a list together to please the media," Kayleigh McEnany said.

^^^ If I was a suspicious man, I might think that Trump was making sure his bigger donors get 'small' business loans so they can funnel that money right back into his campaign donations pot then 'forgive' the debt.

@th3j35t3r
I'd never heard of Ashford, Inc. but it seems they invest in and/or manage a portfolio of thousands of hotels. They're no small business.

@th3j35t3r How *dare* you sir. That's a terrible accusation to launch against the good name of such an upstanding individual.

^^^ And let's not forget he removed the IG who was supposed to be the oversight of this whole thing.

@th3j35t3r yes. And you know exactly why. And yet maga will defend him every step of the way until they start dying too

@ucantstop_me @th3j35t3r

the weird thing is that i don't think that the death of their loved ones, or even their own death, is likely to change their minds.

@killingfloorman just getting symptomatic with the respiratory version (not gastric or blood clotting) is fairly life changing. Just look at Boris. Near death experiences are generally life changing @th3j35t3r

@ucantstop_me @th3j35t3r to the best of my knowledge Boris is still an idiotic, heartless, wanker. What am I missing?

@th3j35t3r everyone worries about the election and I see Thor's wave 2 hammer coming end of summer and it will make this look tame.

@th3j35t3r it's as if he is trying to hide something but I can't quite put my finger on it.

^^^ Well dayumm... turns out another company that got some of the biggest 'small' business loans, Braemar Resorts, also has Monty Bennett as a Chairman on the board.

@th3j35t3r

So, does "small business" mean anything netting less than a few million per year?

@BlueStateBabe @th3j35t3r
The loophole was the number of employees at each location -- so a chain of small outlets that are each the same size as competing small businesses could qualify, even though the total organization is massive.

@BlueStateBabe @th3j35t3r
You can see it both ways. If you're running a hotel chain, a disease that makes people stop traveling is devastating. Your 5000 hotels with 20 employees each are just as devastated as 5000 independent hotels with 20 employees each.

This particular guy looks skeevy with his previous financial dealings and his donations to Trump, but the fault is with the people who wrote the law and the Republicans pushing to just add more money to that law instead of fixing it.

@AlphaCentauri @th3j35t3r

Interpreting the wording of any law, testimony, or evidence seems to be a slippery slope these days. Interpretation of the words and enforcement of that interpretation is based more upon power/influence, than actual intent or provable events.

@th3j35t3r I’m not sure how I missed these earlier.. going to look into them though. Thanks

@th3j35t3r His own debt and debt owed by his companies is huge.
According to The Independent, he declared debt of $315 million to ten different lenders (2017).
Wall Street Journal (also 2017) adds more debt: his companies are almost $1.8 billion in debt to more than 150 institutions.
