^^^ If I was a suspicious man, I might think that Trump was making sure his bigger donors get 'small' business loans so they can funnel that money right back into his campaign donations pot then 'forgive' the debt.

^^^ Well dayumm... turns out another company that got some of the biggest 'small' business loans, Braemar Resorts, also has Monty Bennett as a Chairman on the board.
So, does "small business" mean anything netting less than a few million per year?

The loophole was the number of employees at each location -- so a chain of small outlets that are each the same size as competing small businesses could qualify, even though the total organization is massive.

You can see it both ways. If you're running a hotel chain, a disease that makes people stop traveling is devastating. Your 5000 hotels with 20 employees each are just as devastated as 5000 independent hotels with 20 employees each.
This particular guy looks skeevy with his previous financial dealings and his donations to Trump, but the fault is with the people who wrote the law and the Republicans pushing to just add more money to that law instead of fixing it.

Interpreting the wording of any law, testimony, or evidence seems to be a slippery slope these days. Interpretation of the words and enforcement of that interpretation is based more upon power/influence, than actual intent or provable events.
