Note to anyone trying this that the recent versions of REQ look a bit different that what is shown in Julian's video (and in the official help file. For example, there is no longer an option to apply a House Curve in Preferences. That's been moved to the EQ curve generation settings under Target Settings.

Here's my correction curve if anyone is interested.

^ This was only an experimental run tonight, as I only just ordered a calibrated measurement mic. So I used one of my DPA 4006 with the free-field grid installed, and that's a pretty damn flat mic.

I'm already hearing the mid-bass tubbiness of these old KRK monitors being controlled nicely with this corrected house curve applied, and this is with a completely non-calibrated mic. But the same 4006 capsule is used for pro measurement mics, so I figured the results would at least be informative.

New nerd learning accomplished: Measuring and EQing my studio monitors using Room EQ Wizard and Equalizer APO.

I think Tony Romo has named practically every kind of offensive play in the course of this game.

Sorry for the negativity. I'm going to go have a cookie. And a beer.

I'm realizing that I'm being an old crank tonight. Pissiness coming out in my posts.

Yikes, the broadcast mix for this halftime show is squashed to hell.

I didn't feel like making a new rub so I just used my standard rib rub. It seems to work equally well on chicken.

Dinner tonight: Dry rub chicken drumsticks and potatoes all went on the Weber kettle with vortex used. Lump charcoal and pecan wood.

(REAPER is becoming my DAW of choice )

REAPER 7.10 has just been released with a nice redo of the track/take Envelope Window, a new Envelope Manager, additions to fixed lanes and more
A very nice update overall.

Prepped my lunch for the week by making a big batch of fried rice. I decided to use up my remaining Sichuan peppercorn chili garlic oil, everything that was left in the jar.

I'm sure I won't regret this later.

iFixit has posted their teardown of the Vision Pro.

After watching this, I'm beginning to understand why it's so expensive. This has to be the most densely packed electronic device I've ever seen.
