With all respect to John Rutter, THIS is the finest setting of this carol.

Most of you will know this carol in a modernized, minor-key arrangement. Here it is in its authentic modal, irregular metered glory.

I recommend listening to the traditional harmonization of this carol by Praetorius first, as it is the basis for this piece (see previous reply).

Jan Sandström - Det är en ros utsprungen

PSA - This will be a very long thread. Enjoy!

This morning while preparing to make waffles, a stick of butter I was trying to melt exploded in my microwave. Coating every surface in melted butter. That was not a fun cleanup.

The rest of my day of cooking went great, including perfect waffles.

@mcfate
Since you are someone who clearly knows a lot about Japanese cooking, I wonder if you can recommend some decent quality inexpensive dashi powder?

This is one I'm considering.

This vacuum sealer was really cheap, arrived in a matter of hours, and it is performing beautifully so far.

Does this mean I'm required to buy an immersion circulator now?

Today I visited two of my favorite places in a particular city, which are better than those respective things in most any other city. If you know, you know.

Don't make me have to work today.

Deep fry your turkey outside.
Get drunk AFTER you cook. (NO FIRES)
Don't drink and drive.
Don't fight your relative over politics to the point where they call us out.

Glad we got that out of our system.

Enjoy the day.

@voltronic Have you heard of Adam Neely? He is a provocative youtuber music theory analyst.. 3 years ago he posted a tube-essay about music theory and whiteness. Now, as a brown ovaried student at a conservative german music college.. I can attest to many of his points. My preferred major, jazz, was called "animal music" by a renowned professor there. I graduated cum-laude.. anyhow, much info/discussion resides here.. the link: youtu.be/Kr3quGh7pJA
