This is the best car review channel I've ever found. Sarah is a former Air Force engineer, and her reviews are a unique mix of technical detail and irreverent humor.
Happy Birthday, @Minholkin ! 🍰
Singing from memory unleashes a surprising super power: you remember the precise key of your earworm:

4. Many people seem to forget that the photos they are posting are public. I've seen plenty of things that don't violate the app's ToS but would sure get a closer inspection from an HR department.
5. You can't do much of anything with the free versions of these apps. By design.
6. Spammers and bots seem to like me so far. Real people? That remains to be seen.
Things I learned after my first foray into dating apps over the past week:
1. Many people post pictures with their kids' faces in full view. I probably don't have to tell this community how dangerous that is.
2. I don't understand the use of heavy AI filtering on selfies. Many look like aliens with 10 inch high foreheads. Don't you plan to meet people in person? Will they recognize you?
3. There seems to be a high prevalence of septum piercings for women in their late 20s to early 30s.

@voltronic
Thought of you when I heard this...
You've probably already seen it.. but...
Here's another amazing choral reimagining by Eric Whitacre. This one may rip your heart out even more than the Johnny Cash version.

This isn't really a cover; it's a complete reimagining. You may never think of Depeche Mode's Enjoy the Silence the same way again.
Watch his explanation first before you listen to the performance.

Android security updates this month patch 46 vulnerabilities, including a high-severity remote code execution (RCE) exploited in targeted attacks.
Google says that "there are indications that CVE-2024-36971 may be under limited, targeted exploitation," with threat actors likely exploiting to gain arbitrary code execution without user interaction on unpatched devices.

Just an observation, but #FloodTheFirehose makes the timelines a lot more like they used to in the early days. It's times like these that make me want to hang out here.
Let's do more of this on a regular basis, and not the non-stop political dunking and sulking? It's unhealthy.
Hey folks:
I know that quite a few of us appreciate @Render updates and posts.
One way to support his work is to subscribe to his "stack", and think about going "paid"

@Route10
just saw in your bio that you are a retired middle school principal. Bless you.
I'm a public school teacher, currently with elementary students but I taught middle and high school for quite a long time before that.
Dr. Corey Olsen makes an interesting point about the three Elven rings I had never considered. This cuts right to our discussion the other day about the Elves and fallibility.
I'm having trouble sharing a URL with time index - Go near the end to 1:16:30.

I know you're not a fan of the ROP show thus far, but his analysis of the trailer leading up to this point is quite interesting, and makes me look at it in a new light overall.
^^ See 12:00 in the second video for a nice encapsulation of what is thoroughly explained in the first video:
The driver update from CrowdStrike was signed by Microsoft. The driver itself was fine. But the channel update file from CrowdStrike that is used as input to the driver was malformed, simply full of zeros. That crashed the driver, which was running in kernel mode, so the system had to be halted (BSOD).
