Wake Awake, For Night is Flying - Philipp Nicolai, arr. F. Melius Christiansen

With all respect to John Rutter, THIS is the finest setting of this carol.

I recommend listening to the traditional harmonization of this carol by Praetorius first, as it is the basis for this piece (see previous reply).

This morning while preparing to make waffles, a stick of butter I was trying to melt exploded in my microwave. Coating every surface in melted butter. That was not a fun cleanup.
The rest of my day of cooking went great, including perfect waffles.
@mcfate
Since you are someone who clearly knows a lot about Japanese cooking, I wonder if you can recommend some decent quality inexpensive dashi powder?
This is one I'm considering.

@voltronic Have you heard of Adam Neely? He is a provocative youtuber music theory analyst.. 3 years ago he posted a tube-essay about music theory and whiteness. Now, as a brown ovaried student at a conservative german music college.. I can attest to many of his points. My preferred major, jazz, was called "animal music" by a renowned professor there. I graduated cum-laude.. anyhow, much info/discussion resides here.. the link: https://youtu.be/Kr3quGh7pJA
