@evamarie
I'm not at all surprised to learn this. I've always found this to be the case, even if I couldn't name the key.
Singing from memory unleashes a surprising super power: you remember the precise key of your earworm:

@JolieSaboteuse
I assure you, the feeling is very much mutual.
@JolieSaboteuse
Furthermore, I have major problems with Netanyahu, particularly his efforts to consolidate disproportionate power in his government.
But as awful as innocent casualties of war are, I don't see a better way that Israel could be going about this war. It needs to be brutal and over as soon as possible. Hamas could release hostages and bodies of those taken and imprisoned anytime, surrender, and end this.
@JolieSaboteuse
I'm not going down this road with you. Pakistan isn't the US either, and we went in to take out OBL.
My entire point was calling out your use of "Zionist" as a slur, when most Jews identify as Zionist insofar as they have a right to an ethnic homeland after being forced out of surrounding territories by pogroms and other actions.
I hold Hamas mostly responsible for the death of innocents in Palestinian territories.
@JolieSaboteuse
Those kinds of cheap rhetorical tricks won't work with me.
@JolieSaboteuse
No. I never said they were forced out of Israel. I said they were forced out of surrounding countries as the sources I linked describe.

@JolieSaboteuse
I know what Zionism is, and I see no problem with Jews being able to claim a homeland after they were forced out of everywhere else in the region.
@JolieSaboteuse
Why do you make a point to label Netanyahu's government as "Zionist" when that term aligns with most Jews?
@Kaysymmetry
Please know this comes from a place of caring and empathy.
Have you or are you currently seeing a therapist? It took me a long time to get serious about that, and once I got with the right person they helped me through some pretty dark times.
@haggardmom75
I never knew this was a thing, and it looks like they do have a bunch of events in my area. Thanks!
@MrGoat
If I ever get any responses I'll see how that works.
@Ulf
Surprisingly, I have played D&D exactly once in my life, at a friend's bachelor party in a yurt out in the woods.
@MrGoat
I'm not going to say which apps I have tried, but I did consider the two you mentioned. There's a couple friends of friends who met their current spouses on PoF. The recent user reviews for both of those services are quite poor.
And yes, I can see exactly how these apps bait you. But unless we bring back speed dating, it seems like this is what society has decided we do now.
@LaurelGreen
Thanks. I resisted it for a long time, but it seems this is the only way to meet single people nowadays.
4. Many people seem to forget that the photos they are posting are public. I've seen plenty of things that don't violate the app's ToS but would sure get a closer inspection from an HR department.
5. You can't do much of anything with the free versions of these apps. By design.
6. Spammers and bots seem to like me so far. Real people? That remains to be seen.
Things I learned after my first foray into dating apps over the past week:
1. Many people post pictures with their kids' faces in full view. I probably don't have to tell this community how dangerous that is.
2. I don't understand the use of heavy AI filtering on selfies. Many look like aliens with 10 inch high foreheads. Don't you plan to meet people in person? Will they recognize you?
3. There seems to be a high prevalence of septum piercings for women in their late 20s to early 30s.

@hanse
No, I never saw this one. From the FAQ it sounds like even if all is going perfectly, it will be a bit like playing pipe organ in a large cathedral with other musicians, since they recommend only listening to the return signal of your instrument through the server. With singers or acoustic instruments, this would really bend your brain. Still, I would like to try one of these services someday.
