Israel's military is well equipped and her soldiers are amongst the best trained in the world.

But it's also a small military that is already feeling the strain of a prolonged asymmetric war.

The path for Israel is clear; a two state solution.

It will not be easy but it's the only sustainable path that will ensure the survival of the precious state of Israel.

I fully support the right of the state of Israel to exist and to flourish but I cannot support the actions of Netanyahu's Zionist government in its prosecution of this war.

I could say more but shall not.

@JolieSaboteuse
Why do you make a point to label Netanyahu's government as "Zionist" when that term aligns with most Jews?

@voltronic No it doesn't. Zionism is a form of nationalism. It has nothing to do with the Jewish faith.

@voltronic If you don't like it, block me. I'll miss you terribly.

@JolieSaboteuse
I know what Zionism is, and I see no problem with Jews being able to claim a homeland after they were forced out of everywhere else in the region.

@voltronic Forced out? When? They were given a homeland. Jews from all over the world migrated there to populate it. At no time in modern history have they been forced out of anywhere.

@voltronic Well, you might as well have said the Bible and Egypt. None of these are instances of the Jewish people being expelled from the safe state of Israel.

@JolieSaboteuse
No. I never said they were forced out of Israel. I said they were forced out of surrounding countries as the sources I linked describe.

@voltronic You mean kind of like forcing Palestinians out of their homes by using deadly force?

@JolieSaboteuse
Those kinds of cheap rhetorical tricks won't work with me.

@voltronic It's not a trick, it's a fact. Gaza and the West Bank are not Israel, are they?

@JolieSaboteuse
I'm not going down this road with you. Pakistan isn't the US either, and we went in to take out OBL.

My entire point was calling out your use of "Zionist" as a slur, when most Jews identify as Zionist insofar as they have a right to an ethnic homeland after being forced out of surrounding territories by pogroms and other actions.

I hold Hamas mostly responsible for the death of innocents in Palestinian territories.

@JolieSaboteuse
Furthermore, I have major problems with Netanyahu, particularly his efforts to consolidate disproportionate power in his government.

But as awful as innocent casualties of war are, I don't see a better way that Israel could be going about this war. It needs to be brutal and over as soon as possible. Hamas could release hostages and bodies of those taken and imprisoned anytime, surrender, and end this.

@voltronic Ok well, you just be you. There are far too many childishly simplistic flaws in your poorly constructed argument than I have time in my day to address.

I hope you have a great rest of your day.

Peace x
