Offering samples of the weeds as I prune to the houseguests like a good hostess.

Third day in a row the 5 yr old down the street was here in time for breakfast, and I've had to keep her entertained when my own kid slept in, she's going home with a noisy toy as a gift.

since i have managed to set myself on fire a few times, here's a handy reminder for you normal people who just don't...

Popping in to say we still haven't managed to get out the front door for the road trip, and the local stray children whose moms kick them out all day have found us. That's two adults, two young adults, our kid and 3 neighbor kids, 4 Pomeranians, 3 budgies, a tiny kitten and a frog in a trailer.

Sigh. Remember when I was alone in here?

Quick note. Won't be around a lot, we suspended the home internet for a bit as part of pinching every penny before a road trip to Disney before Joe goes back to work. Personally will not visit the mouse (crowd anxiety triggers spasms), but I've been having dreams about being pulled away from beachcomg ever since I tried to only focus on my family at her 3rd bday on the beach, so I'll be getting that out of my system. Anyway, will be scarce and am fine :).

Okay, so in California Dreamin' he's in a church because he's cold and has to listen to a pastor's sermon for shelter and he thinks if he was in California, it would be different. Always makes me laugh. I had to sit through a few sermons for a free meal. In California. America is America, it would seem.

Show me a bird owner who doesn't stop to carefully collect certain feathers when cleaning and I'll show you a callous beast.

Freddie the formerly feral Mercury is really enjoying my "turn up the music and reorganize ALL the bedroom storage space" party, so it's cool that he's down with the chaos.

Residents of countries that are not America, I have a question. When you purchase something from a cashier and there is someone behind you, after you hand your money over, are you shoved aside for the next person or are you allowed to gracefully pack your receipt and change before they are done with you?

Is this "liminal"? I know liminal mostly refers to places in transition from one state to another, like a closed school waiting to open again, but this feeling I want to express is more stationary, closer to anxiety or detachment. Looking at the world and not being able to take from it cues if you are safe or not, because normal things have not always been safe, but you're fine and not actually afraid or anxious. You can't come to rest, but you are resting.

Clarence Thomas was the only dissent on the ban for guns for domestic abusers.

Let's just say it. He makes a hornet look cuddly.

"It's so strange that the same thing keeps happening over and over again, considering we have done nothing to stop it."
