Residents of countries that are not America, I have a question. When you purchase something from a cashier and there is someone behind you, after you hand your money over, are you shoved aside for the next person or are you allowed to gracefully pack your receipt and change before they are done with you?
@tippitiwichet Generally my experience is one of staff and fellow shoppers being pretty patient.
There are always going to be exceptions, but they're fairly rare.
@stueytheround Cool. Meanwhile, I have a better customer service experience with mail order delivery.
@tippitiwichet Nope, not up here in the northlands, in my experience.
By the next customer? Nope.
Most people form orderly queues for service. Occasionally you get queue jumpers or newer Kiwis who come from cultures where you don't queue may be a little by your shoulder or a little pushy.
On the regular though? No. I wouldn't say so.
@tippitiwichet Generally people wait for you to put stuff back in your bag or purse without any hassle.
@tippitiwichet I don’t shop in stores much these days and when I do I usually post with Apple Pay and for minor items I don’t bother with a receipt as I have it recorded on my device. For things that could need a receipt in the future, I take the receipt from the machine and move out of the way of my own accord for the person behind me. I am in the UK.
@tippitiwichet Also curious about this.
