Yes, an organic one so I knew it wouldn't be radiated, can prevent germination. Look for pieces with the nubs on them from where shoots are starting to form, plant those facing up with the ginger just under the surface of the soil. Once it grows, it can grow fast. I planted some a couple of months ago that is over two feet tall, will do pics soon, mulched it with moss and it looks pretty.

The black loop at the right is my new light to fill in the shady spots of my indoor garden. It is plugged into my emergency solar power bank, seen hanging above the window box with my lettuce seedlings, bark hides, and Henry the millipede. The light at the left is my stronger plant light. Now I see if it is strong enough to power the little one :).

My daughter wants a millipede, but I can't afford a new terrarium yet. Then I realized my windowbox lined with lichen covered bark for spider hides would also make a nice spot for millipedes to hide in. Then I went in the yard and found Henry.

I just realized I can make my little miniature permaculture garden even more hippie by plugging my plant lights into the emergency solar charger thing we got after the power went out for a week. Also, given how I'm maintaining a food web, do you think I should apply to get one of those certified wildlife shelter garden signs?
