I just realized I can make my little miniature permaculture garden even more hippie by plugging my plant lights into the emergency solar charger thing we got after the power went out for a week. Also, given how I'm maintaining a food web, do you think I should apply to get one of those certified wildlife shelter garden signs?
@peeppeepcircus Putting it on the wall right over my pots in a frame would certainly prompt discussion, I could give a little tour, then I wouldn't feel socially awkward because conversation would be about my passionate thing. I believe we've talked me into something I was joking about.
@peeppeepcircus By the way, the thing that made the idea pop into my head was realizing I could put bark with lichens on it as jumping spider shelters for babies that come indoors in the winter, I put them on my windowbox pots so they could prey on the fungus gnats :).
@tippitiwichet Yes! I have one in my yard.
@tippitiwichet
why not? it’s a badge of honor. more about educating any visitors that a garden *can* be a wildlife shelter (so many people have forgotten about that)
