How do people make friends as adults without joining a cult

@Silabus I don’t know where to begin. I lost my job this morning. My wife almost left a month ago because I couldn’t find one at that point. I have a wicked tooth infection so I’m in constant pain. I could go on but no one wants to hear me complain, so I’ll leave it at that.

@mcfate sorry, it’s early. Let me simplify. When we interact with people, it’s not just the words we use that’s important. The way I interpret your expression of them does too. We see this most often in text message miscommunication, I’m sure we’ve all had that problem.

I’m curious if other languages suffer from a similar problem or if there are more…expressive grammatical structures I suppose

The English language seems to be incredibly reliant on the feelings perceived by people within the interaction…do other languages operate this way too?

@jordicusmaximus @gshevlin that’s my honest opinion about religion. If the great deceiver is so great at what he does, he’d corrupt the sources of information that believers use, and ultimately their religions. I could go on, but unless there’s interest I’ll spare you the lecture

You know those “sign in with google/facebook” links? Is there a way to fake the login so you never have to make a real account?

@AskTheDevil I don’t use most of them myself. I keep coming back because the community is a good one, and because it’s obvious to me J cares about maintaining that, and maintaining our safety here

@allin I don’t think that could be said about any other social platform. This is a place that needs, and deserves support, simply for what it is and the community that gathers here, and there’s no particular feature that’s drawing us here
