I'm not particularly a monarchist, but the news coming out of Balmoral is making me sad nonetheless.
Elizabeth has been a kind of constant in most Brits' lives. The majority have never lived with another monarch. Only those born before 1952 will remember her father, so there will inevitably be a sense of great loss when she does finally pass.
Please be kind to the Brits you meet, wherever you may be, whatever your politics ❤️❤️❤️
@Jene_Sais_Quoi It's not looking good, I'm afraid.
Ohhh god, no no no no no.. 😢
@stueytheround The Queen is special. I am also saddened.
@stueytheround Thoughts with you.
@stueytheround
May it be gentle for you all. She really was the classiest feminist of our generation.
It's strange. Since I'm American, you'd think I wouldn't have too much of an opinion, but I've always felt really at home in the UK. It will be a great loss, for sure.
@stueytheround agree. She's had an amazing life and I hope she has a little more time but either way her legacy will be grand. ❤
@stueytheround I'm not a monarchist either, but this makes my heart heavy with a strange kind of sadness. 💔 I've only ever known her as Queen because I was born in 1982, and being part of the commonwealth, she's always been here.
@stueytheround
Me too, Stuey.
I'm no monarchist, and I'm American to boot, but feel this too! May her crossing be peaceful, whenever it occurs, and may her family and all those who love her be comforted.
No future monarch in the U.K. (or likely anywhere) will have the kind of power and influence she had.
@stueytheround
Ohhhh god, I can't handle Queen Elizabeth passing, I hope she's OK. 😔
